The Real Facts that Led to the Writing and Releasing of "Redemption"

In January, 1994, when Michael Jackson settled the civil lawsuit against Evan Chandler (Jordy Chandler), Geraldine Hughes knew that all of the information that she provided to MJ's defense team was never going to get out to the public.  Especially, pertinent information that would prove to the world that he was not a child molester.  Several years passed that she didn't know what to do with inside information that she was an eyewitness to which would prove to the work that MJ was innocent.

In 1997, while attending a gospel concert hosted by Dr. Bobby Jones, a book editor was on the panel and he to
ld the audience that there was a book inside of everyone, and encouraged his listeners to go home and find the book inside of them.  When Geraldine Hughes returned back home, taking his instruction seriously, she realized that she did have something inside that she needed to get out.  It was the only platform that made sense up until then because after going through the media frenzy in 1993, she felt this was a quiet, non-argumentative way of getting her information out to the public to let them know what really happened to Michael Jackson in 1993.

Not having been a book writer before, and never entertaining the idea to write a book, Geraldine Hughes had to do a lot of research on writing a book, had to decide how to get the book out to the public, but the main concern that she thought would be cured in releasing her information in a book format (as opposed to going to the press), was that she could get her information out, while still maintaining her quiet and discreet lifestyle, which she enjoyed in the aftermath of working with Rothman.  Making money off the book or from the book had nothing to do with her decision to write and/or release the book.  She actually thought that after you put a book out, the writer could remain silent in the background and people would either believe it or not.  Either way, she was convinced that writing the book was the best way of getting the information out that would vindicate Michael Jackson's name.

In February of 2003, while in the mission field working with children that lived in the projects of Watts, a voice came straight from heaven instructing Geraldine to "go after a publisher and don't stop until you find one."  In only 3 months she found a publisher to publish her already written book.  After going back and forth with edits and deciding what the cover would be (because she had not received permission to use the picture of Michael Jackson at that point), in November of 2003, her publisher put out a Press Release about the book's release.

At that time, no one knew that Tom Sneddon was going to go after Michael Jackson, once again, for a second child molestation allegation charge, and trying to prove that he did it again. Geraldine's book release timing was strategic and important because Tom Sneddon didn't know that we were coming out with the book to prove that he didn't do it the first time.  (A child molester doesn't strike just once in a lifetime, so Tom Sneddon was desperately trying to prove another case of molestation against Michael Jackson).

We later found out during the 2005 trial that Tom Sneddon began his investigation to come after Michael Jackson for the second time in February 2003 (which is when he spoke with Galvin Alviso's mother in a parking lot).

Geraldine Hughes had no clue that Tom Sneddon was going to come after Michael Jackson a second time (right on the heels of releasing her book) when she initially decided to write Redemption.  She had no idea that the media frenzy was going to erupt again and that Michael Jackson would be in need of, once again, an inside witness who was able to say "he was the victim of an elaborate extortion scheme).  Geraldine Hughes released her book, "Redemption: The Truth Behind The Michael Jackson Child Molestation Allegation" in 2003 to simply get information out to the world that she knew and was willing to tell that would prove Michael Jackson was not a child molester.  She was the only one that was willing to tell who the real perpetrators were and reveal their scheme from inside the accuser's camp.

The only one that knew what was going to happen ahead of time was God.  Geraldine Hughes has always told Michael Jackson's fans that God was always on Michael Jackson's side.  God doesn't promise us that we won't go through trials and tribulations.  God does promise that when we go through, He will never leave us nor forsake us.  God did not forsake Michael Jackson.  He gave Michael Jackson something that none of his accusers had...A WITNESS!
